Findhorn Foundation SCIO — Evolving the Educational Impulse

Since our new Trustees were appointed on 10 October 2025, the Findhorn Foundation SCIO has been finding its rhythm — balancing due diligence with daily service and a deep listening to the spirit of the place.

Over these first weeks, the Trustees — Angus Marland, Liza Hollingshead, Sara Tevelyan, and Marilyn Hamilton — have begun a steady pattern of meetings and meditations designed to align governance with purpose.

  • Weekly meetings of Trustees

  • Bi-weekly sessions with the Education Circle Working Group

  • Regular participation in a multitude of Organizational Meetings

We’re also grateful for the quiet, consistent presence of our Trustees at community gatherings — whether the Friday Phoenix Café meeting or the weekly Meditation for the Educational Impulse held each Friday at 1 p.m. in the Light of Findhorn Sanctuary. These shared spaces of reflection reveal both common ground and “uncommon ground,” the fertile edges where new possibilities germinate.

Building on Strong Foundations

We have met with the SCIO’s operational team — Alex Wright, Kate Waring, Rudolf van Brederode, and Britta Schmitz — whose dedication sustains the SCIO’s global network through daily meditations on Zoom, Facebook, and Instagram. Over a hundred participants regularly join the weekday meditations. We extend heartfelt thanks for their devotion and technical skill in keeping the flame of Findhorn’s education alive around the world.

Stewarding Both the Practical and the Subtle

The SCIO is keeping focused on its role to serve the Educational Impulse and to care for the legacy received from Findhorn Foundation Trust - what we call the Subtle Assets:
the spiritual, cultural, and relational capital that give Findhorn its living heart — our shared practices, stories, wisdom, digital networks, and global community relationships.

Our responsibility is to ensure that these intangible yet vital dimensions of Findhorn continue to inspire education for regeneration, consciousness, and co-creation with the Intelligences of Nature.

Looking Ahead

If you would like to connect with the Trustees, please write to connect@findhorn.org.
Your reflections, questions, and goodwill help us listen more deeply and act more wisely.

Together, may we continue to show that work is love in action — and that our education, at every level, arises from co-creation with the Intelligences of Nature.
