Green Designs – Moray Sea Glass
Hi, I’m Sharon, artist, wife and mum living near the stunning Moray coast in Scotland. I started collecting sea glass when we moved up here and this then developed into an obsession! I love the different colours and the way each piece is shaped by the sea over a long period of time. I began to make sea glass mobiles for family and friends and moved onto jewellery and cards. A lot of my inspiration comes from the sea glass itself as each piece has such a unique size, shape and colour so it dictates how it can be used in my work.
All of my sea glass is collected within a few miles of my house and then lovingly washed, prepared and crafted into a beautiful and unique piece of art. My daughter also enjoys looking for sea glass and we spend a few hours a week walking up and down the coastline, looking for the perfect pieces (much to the amusement of our local seals!).

My name is Elaine and I’m the face behind Leafy Laine. I revamped my business about 6 years ago when I started to up-cycle old furniture using eco-friendly chalk paints. From there it suddenly evolved into making eco-friendly re-usable facial wipes. Many other re-useable items suddenly appeared along the way.
I now make a range of goods from facial wipes and baby wipes to non-paper kitchen towels and hessian cleaning scrubbies. All machine washable and eco-friendly.
The towelling I use is ex hotel towels and I also now re-purpose other fabrics such as curtains and quilt covers for the tops of each item. The brushed cotton for my facial wipes is OEKO-TEX certified and is sourced as Responsible Cotton.
All my off cuts of fabrics get bagged up and donated to the Red Cross shop where they get about 40p per kilo scrap weight. It then goes on to be remade into new fabrics or paper. Nothing gets wasted and nothing should go into landfill.
