Cluny’s Winter Solstice Retreat

Start Date: 19/12/2022
End Date: 24/12/2022
Event Category:

*Bookings closed* Escape the busyness of this time of year as you celebrate the Solstice on retreat in the gentle embrace of Cluny Hill.

Cluny in autumn

At this auspicious time of the year, escape the bustling world into the peace of Cluny Hill, where you’ll be welcomed into the community.

On this retreat, built around the winter Solstice, enjoy the time and space to reflect on the year that is ending, and consciously prepare to transit into the New Year, opening up to the possibilities of what is to come.

Central to the retreat is a beautiful annual Solstice ritual, honouring the energy of this powerful time and consciously marking the turning of the year in our lives.

Using various tools and experiences, such as meditation, attunement, dance and spending time in the natural beauty of the Cluny hills, we will release the old and create next steps that will take us into 2023 with joy.

You’re also warmly invited to stay on for a few days and spend Christmas at Cluny.

What to expect

In the early part of the week we’ll focus on reviewing 2022, working with attunements and sharings to integrate what has unfolded.

Midweek, we’ll help prepare for the Solstice ceremony and then join in with the community celebrations.

After the Solstice we will start dreaming into our personal next steps, exploring our intentions for 2023 and opening up to the New.

Each day you’re invited to join in with the rhythms of the house, such as Taize singing and meditations in the Sanctuary, and connecting with nature and the land in the hills and woods around Cluny.

You can anticipate having either the morning or the afternoon of each day free, as well as most evenings, for your own personal retreat/reflection time.

On Friday we will round off the retreat with a time of sharing to complete our week, followed by a delicious celebration meal in the elegant Cluny dining room.

Why spend the Solstice at Cluny?

You will enter a gentle community of like-hearted people where you’ll feel safe to share what can’t always be communicated in our everyday lives in the world.

You’ll have time for contemplation and slowing down, as endings and beginnings occur simultaneously.

You’re invited to embrace being at peace with 2022 and leave with a sense of anticipation for all that 2023 will bring.
