Wojtek the Bear

Saturday 10th May 2014

Wojtek smTheatre Objektiv's award winning production written by Raymond Raszkowski Ross, tells the extraordinary story of Wojtek, the Polish soldier bear, who fought at Monte Cassino and died in Edinburgh Zoo. With Wojtek and his "mother", Polish soldier Piotr, a Gulag survivor, we travel from a war-torn Poland, through the Soviet slave camps and the Middle East, into the battle of Monte Cassino and, finally, to post-war Scotland. This is absorbing, emotionally engaging and thought-provoking theatre from Theatre Objecktiv who were last at the Universal Hall with A Promised Land. Not children's theatre but suitable for ages 12+
