Presented by the magical Horse and Bamboo Theatre Company, Angus MacPhee's life is seen as a tale of illness, lost traditions and magical hats made of grass "stunning like sunbursts". Raised on South Uist, and severely affected by WWII Angus spent 50 years in a psychiatric hospital. He did not speak; instead he wove remarkable costumes out of grass. By using the sounds, songs and images of the Outer Hebrides, plus masks and puppetry, film and animation, Horse and Bamboo make exciting theatre. Angus features Gaelic singer Mairi Morrison and grass replicas by Joanne B Kaar. Suitable for all ages except perhaps very little children.
