Recreating the mysteries of the Tibetan Monastery, eight Tashi Lhunpo monks offer a dramatic presentation of sacred dance, music and prayer with traditional costumes and ceremonial masks. Founded by the first Dalai Lama in the 15th Century, Tashi Lhunpo is one of the most important monasteries in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.

The monks will construct a peace mandala in the Dance Studio in the Hall at 3pm on Friday 18th November with viewing until 6pm. From 10am-12.15 on Sat 19th and from 2pm-3.30pm there may be an opportunity (to be confirmed) for prayer flag printing, sand mandala making, dukar wheel making, butter sculpture and to learn some Tibetan language. The destruction ceremony for the mandala will take place at 4.30pm Saturday, with a blessing prayer and procession to scatter the sand (depending on the weather). All welcome and free admission for these Dance Studio events.
