Brooklyn-based Wiyos made a huge impact following their BBC TV debut when they appeared with Seasick Steve at The Barbican Theatre’s big Folk America extravaganza. Last year they opened for Bob Dylan, and thrilled a capacity crowd at Celtic Connections. Much of their music is inspired by the early American musical idioms of the 1920s and ’30s, but the band seamlessly fuse vintage sounds with the contemporary without sounding forced or affected.
