Just imagine this, if none of this crosses over with you; if your race, your religion, your gender, your beliefs, your values, none of these cross over with you when you leave the body, then what is left? What is left is our pure essence. We can call it pure essence, we can call it pure spirit, we can call it pure love, we can call it pure God, it doesn’t matter. But it is something that is so pure and so clear and so light.

Anita Moorjani

Fear of death is a great fear behind other fears and an enormous source of suffering. Our materialistic culture encourages us to push thoughts of it away at all costs. Consumerism, addictions and obsessions become the coping mechanisms.

But what if you could know with absolute certainty that you will live on after your body dies?

In this conference a lineup of world-famous speakers who have crossed over the threshold of death and returned will present their experiences. What they share can and does have an immediate impact on our lives. Among the messages they have brought back from their journeys are that:

  • the soul lives on for eternity
  • the challenges and fears that we face in this life are for the fulfilment of our soul's plan and experience
  • death is just a 'doorway', a transition
  • there is a benevolent power, of which we are a part, that loves us beyond anything that we have experienced in this incarnation
  • all the knowledge that exists is already part of us

The stories alone are amazing to hear, but the after-effects, including the gaining of psychic abilities and greater intuition, offer us all tools for overcoming fear and helping us to engage more fully with our soul’s path in this life.

How much might our ability to love and accept ourselves, and others, expand, if we could grasp our soul-purpose, and our role in the ‘play’ of this life?

The aim of this conference is transformation - an expansion of consciousness on an individual and a major cultural level. Using the innovative, collaborative approaches that the Findhorn Foundation is known for, we will be co-creating the conference together. Over the course of four days, in plenary sessions and small groups you will meet presenters and others from around the world who have come to share their stories, each contributing to the unfolding of this unique and life-transforming event.

The conference's guiding inspiration is the transformative power of limitless love and light, which this centre is founded in. Unconditional love and light is our true nature and the recognition that we are not limited body/mind organisms allows for our lives to change dramatically in ways we may never have dreamed possible.

Our invited speakers include several near-death experiencers:

Dr Eben Alexander, best-selling author of Proof of Heaven: A Neurosurgeon's Journey in the Afterlife, has been an academic neurosurgeon for over 25 years, including 15 years at the Brigham & Women's Hospital, the Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School. In 2008, his own remarkable near-death experience radically transformed his understanding of consciousness and the brain. He co-founded the nonprofit Eternea to share this information, to further the research on science and spirituality and the nature of consciousness, and to encourage people to bring unconditional love into daily life.

Anita Moorjani (via video link), New York Times bestselling author of Dying To Be Me, fell into a deep coma in 2006 after the lymphoma she previously been diagnosed with had metastasised and spread through her body. The doctors told her family that her body had gone into organ failure and she was in her final hours of life. Anita came out of the coma three days later having experienced many characteristic details of a near-death experience as well as details unique to her, and having experienced a spontaneous healing. Her tumours shrunk by about 70% within four days, and within five weeks she was cancer free and released from hospital.

Barbara Harris Whitfield is a therapist, workshop presenter, near-death experiencer, and respiratory and massage therapist. She was on the faculty of Rutgers University's Institute for Alcohol and Drug Studies for 12 years teaching on the after effects of spiritual awakenings. Barbara was research assistant to psychiatry professor Bruce Greyson, the director of the International Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDS) at the University of Connecticut Medical School, studying the spiritual, psychological, physical and energetic after effects of the near-death experience. She is past president and a member of the board of the Kundalini Research Network and has sat on the executive board of IANDS. She is a consulting editor and contributor for the Journal of Near-Death Studies. Barbara was a key subject in Kenneth Ring's groundbreaking book on the near-death experience, Heading Toward Omega. He writes about her again in his latest book Lessons From the Light. She presented talks on the near-death experience to a group in the Capital in Washington, DC and also the United Nations in New York. Barbara lives in Georgia with her husband, where they share a private practice providing individual and group psychotherapy for trauma survivors and people with addictions and other problems in living.

Nancy Clark had a near-death experience after dying during childbirth and woke up in the morgue. Years later, she had a near-death-like mystical experience while delivering a eulogy. During that heavenly union with the Light/God, she received the ecstasy of God's immense love and received a calling to 'speak and write' what her great teacher revealed to her. Nancy returned from the eternal sacred realm and from the heart of God, setting her on a devoted life of close union with God with the passion not to show that special experiences happen only to some people, but to show us that humans can experience the reality of our true, authentic self - the self that is rooted in the divine. Nancy draws upon the knowledge she received during her union with the Light/God to help us transcend our own limitations, our fears, our thinking. She worked as a cytology (study of cells) instructor and as a cancer researcher at a major university before retiring and devoting her life to the spiritual work that is so important to her. She is the founder and facilitator of the Ohio International Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDS). Nancy is an international author and has written four books, national award-winners Hear His Voice: The Light's Message For Humanity: Revelations From a Woman Who Came Back From Heaven's Door Twice, and My Beloved: Messages From God's Heart to Your Heart; as well as Divine Moments: Ordinary People Having Spiritually Transformative Experiences and Stop Trying to Fix Me: I'm Grieving As Fast As I Can.

PMH Atwater is one of the original researchers in the field of near-death studies, having begun her work in 1978 and written 11 books on her findings. Some of her discoveries have been verified in clinical studies, among them the prospective study conducted in the Netherlands and published in the medical journal The Lancet. Her book The Big Book of Near-Death Experiences, brings the field up to date globally and was featured in an online version of Newsweek Magazine. She was presented the Outstanding Service Award in 2005 from the International Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDS) and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Association of Transpersonal Hypnotherapists (NATH). In 2009 she was given the Nancy E Bush Award for Literary Excellence and the Lifetime Achievement and Special Services Award, both from IANDS. Her books have been translated into 13 languages. Near-Death Experiences: The Rest of The Story completes 33 years of doing near-death research, combined with work from a previous decade investigating altered and mystical states, psychic phenomena and the transformation process. Future Memory, updated and reissued, continues her exploration of consciousness itself with a format like that of a labyrinth. Keenly interested in children and evolution, she has also authored The New Children and Near-Death Experiences, Beyond the Indigo Children, and Children of the Fifth World. Her DVD/CD called As You Die was developed to guide the dying through death and the soul's separation, and as a comfort for loved ones. Her book We Live Forever: The Real Truth About Death enables all of us to reconsider what we think we know about life and death and the will of the soul. A near-death experiencer hereof, three times in three months in 1977, she returned from these episodes with many enhanced sensitivities.

Karen Newell is co-founder of Sacred AcousticsTM, a company that creates brain entrainment audio meditations combining digital frequencies, sacred instruments, sounds of nature and human vocals in order to access deep states of consciousness. Karen has explored many forms of acoustic enhancement used for attaining altered states of awareness. Through mutual inspiration and desire for deeper exploration, the two co-founders began to create unique combinations of digital tones and sound effects for their personal use. Using measurements from a portable EEG device, and through trial and error, they discovered frequency sets and resonance patterns that greatly enhanced their meditation experiences. Eventually, they began to realise others could benefit from these recordings. As a life-long seeker of discovering the truth of humanity's past, Karen has amassed a vast library of information on alternative sources of history and our existence. Underlying the drive to create audio meditations is this passion for recovering ancient knowledge by energetically connecting with sacred sites and structures. Data found at such locations acts as inspiration for the recordings, including acoustic qualities, sacred geometry, astronomical alignments, petroglyphs and other information. As humans, when we interact with these energies, a natural alignment to our true nature occurs. We begin to remember who we are. Sacred Acoustics is committed to continued innovation in developing sound technology and other forms of consciousness enhancement to its furthest potential.

Pim Van Lommel MD was born in 1943, graduated in 1971 from the University of Utrecht and finished his specialisation in cardiology in 1976. He worked from 1977 to 2003 as a cardiologist in Hospital Rijnstate, an 800-bed teaching hospital in Arnhem, the Netherlands, and is now doing full-time research on the mind-brain relation. He published several articles on cardiology, but since he started his research on near-death experiences (NDE) in survivors of cardia arrest in 1986, he is the author of over 20 articles, two books and several chapters about NDE. The Dutch prospective study on NDE was published in the renowned medical journal The Lancet in 2001: Near-death experience in survivors of cardiac arrest: a prospective study in the Netherlands. This article caused an international sensation as it was the first scientifically rigorous study of this phenomenon. In his later articles he writes about his concept of the continuity of our consciousness, and about the relation between mind and brain. In 2005, he was awarded the Bruce Greyson Research Award on behalf of the International Association of Near-Death Studies (IANDS) in the USA and in 2006, the president of India awarded him the Life Time Achievement Award at the World Congress on Clinical and Preventative Cardiology 2006 in New Delhi. Recently he received the 2010 Book Award of the Scientific and Medical Network (UK). In November 2007, his book Eindeloos Bewustzjin (Endless Consciousness) was published in the Netherlands and became a national bestseller with more than 100,000 copes sold within one year.

Brigitte Rix is a clairaudient medium, metaphysics teacher and inspirational public speaker. Hailed as 'The Afterlife French Lady' by her readers and audiences, she has published four of her channelled books so far. For the past 32 years she has consciously been communicating with those in the 'other world' through clairaudience and simultaneous high-speed 'automatic writing'. These decades of enlightening conversations with discarnate intelligences dictating mind-blowing revelations, merge the boundaries of science and spirituality, inciting Brigitte to share this consciousness-expanding knowledge with mankind. Brigitte tours the UK giving talks tailored to each audience's queries: proving the 'dead' survive and can communicate; dispelling fears; opening humans' minds to grasp they are eternal beings; and explaining how their soul's chosen life plan and their soul's tool - mind power - affect their lives and happiness. Mankind is encouraged to trust its own intuition and question illogical theories and dictatorial dogmas. From 1983, Brigitte was able to communicate directly with spiritual beings and receive their teachings! In 1999, Brigitte unexpectedly heard (clairaudiently) her deceased mother's sudden declaration, only 26 hours after her 'death': "I have arrived safely. Everything you told me about the afterlife is true!" That dialogue started Brigitte's astonishing diary, charting 13 years of her verbatim conversations with several of her departed loved ones and her spirit guide in her books I'm Not Dead: I'm Alive Without a Body, Vol 1&2. Moreover, Brigitte's altered state during channelling is free from restrictive beliefs, enabling evolved energy personalities to dictate, at their request, further groundbreaking knowledge into two books: Truths, Lies and Distortions and Worlds BEYOND the 'Spirit World'.

Jeff Olsen experienced a horrific automobile accident in 1997 which inflicted multiple life threatening injuries, including crushing both his legs. He had 18 surgeries and spent six months in the hospital. His left leg was amputated above the knee. The most devastating outcome of the accident was the loss of his wife and youngest son, both killed instantly. Overwhelmed by his own life-threatening injuries, Jeff had a profound near-death experience in which he met his wife on the other side, who told him he couldn't stay and had to return. Having that glimpse into heaven gave him the courage he needed to carry on and care for his living son. He has since remarried and adopted two more sons. According to Jeff's website, his greatest joy comes from being a husband and father. His mission is to assist people in consciously embracing who they are and the connection they share with others and the universe. Even without Jeff's profound out-of-body and other mystical experiences, what he has to share with us and teach us about overcoming grief and guilt would be life-transforming in themselves. Jeff is a very humble, genuine and warm speaker and has been gifted with a high-degree of empathy and an ability to shine Light upon all our suffering.
