Experience the magic, the mystery and the sacredness of all life on this retreat that will combine the opportunity of gently guided meditative walks, reconnection with the beauty and healing powers of Nature, and time to simply relax and enjoy the simplicity of island life.
The retreat is about treading lightly and lovingly upon our beautiful Earth and making every step a prayer and a blessing, while consciously listening to those inner whispers of wisdom and knowing.
For many centuries the Isle of Iona has been a place of pilgrimage and during the past four decades Traigh Bhan, the Findhorn Foundation’s retreat house on this sacred island, has appealed to modern-day seekers wishing for a quiet and intimate space for contemplation and renewal.
The house is comfortable and adequately equipped, with its own peaceful sanctuary for reflection and prayer, offering quiet space to reflect on your own journey or next steps. It is a chance to slow down, let go of otherworld busyness, and sink into the supportive and co-creative space of a mini-community sharing accommodation and the preparation and enjoyment of simple vegetarian meals.
Participation is limited to a maximum of six retreatants.
Our time together on Iona has been a great source for renewal and it has given me greater clarity about the road ahead. Another good thing for me is a deeper understanding of pilgrimage.
I wrote in my diary:
“The art of pilgrimage is knowing what your real needs are,
is not taking more than needed,
is returning something for everything received – a smile, a blessing, an act of gratefulness,
is walking lightly on the Earth,
is praying with your feet,
is welcoming everything as a gift,
is trusting, not giving-up,
is staying true to your vision, your heart’s whisper,
is daring to draw boundaries where they might be needed,
is not judging but welcoming everyone with an open heart,
is asking all the time ‘what would love do?’
is blessing every creature along the road,
is surrendering to the Mystery of life.”
Our quoted prices are fully inclusive of participation in the workshop or retreat, accommodation (maximum 6 guests) in shared rooms (including towels and linen) and vegetarian food for shared meals. Arrival time is midday Saturday, and departure time is the next Saturday morning.

Before you book your place, please take a moment to consider that the Findhorn Foundation is a Charitable Trust. We believe that the benefits of holistic learning should be available to everyone regardless of their financial or life situation, and that the transformational journey is enriched by a diversity of participants.
We recognise that what is affordable for some can be a financial stretch for others and offer a tiered pricing structure. When you book, please select the price that feels appropriate for you.
Pay it Forward Price covers the cost of your workshop and includes a contribution to our bursary fund. This will make participation possible for one or more people who otherwise would not be able to join our transformational work in the world.
Sustainable Price covers the cost of your workshop and helps us to sustain our learning and guest facilities.
Supported Price reflects a partial bursary toward the cost of your workshop and is intended for those with minor financial need.
The cost of the workshop does not include transport to Iona. For information on the Findhorn Foundation bus to Iona and to book a seat, please send an email to [email protected] Please state the dates you wish to travel and if you would like to be picked up from Cluny or The Park.
If you are making your own travel arrangements, please plan to be at Fionnphort on Mull in time to meet the retreat focaliser from the Findhorn Foundation bus. This is normally at 11:15, but please check with the focaliser. If you need to call Traigh Bhan (+44 (0)1681 700 383), to inform us what time you will arrive, please be aware that there is nobody at the house on Saturday between 9.00 am and 1.00 pm.
