Online: Transforming Our World From Within

Online: Transforming Our World From Within

Event is not currently scheduled

A week-long online immersion
Saturday 28 November to Friday 4 December 2020
With Stephen Busby, supported by Susan Miles

The outer events and crises of our world are a reflection of our inner state, of our consciousness. Deep inside us, inside our relationships, our groups and communities, our world awaits our transformation. Using practices in higher consciousness and subtle energy work, we will explore how our world forms through us, through our fear and separateness, as well as through our longing, grief, dreams and love.

As we practise, much is surfaced and presenced in us and between us, and is often released. As we listen, we learn how to live while guided from within, at the still centre of ourselves. We are more present then to the subtle nature of reality and, crucially, to the deeper context of those challenges and crises which are reflected in our world.

Through inner work, teachings and dialogue, relational exercises and subtle sensing in small intimate configurations, we will practise bringing more of ourselves and our love from within out into the world, in embodied ways. The week is an immersive opportunity for deep connection and companionship, healing and clarity, for a sense of our calling and purpose in the midst of a fragmented and fearful world.

Our work will draw upon Stephen’s recent publications in his Guidance for Life on Earth series, written in cooperation with inner guides. You need not have read these books to participate in this week-long immersion.

A rich daily programme consists of these four elements

  1. As a whole group: We’ll meet online using Zoom, an interactive, easy-to-use video platform. During a four-hour session every day, including regular breaks for movement and rest, we’ll alternate between guided work and dialogue with Stephen, and exercises in smaller (breakout) groups.
  2. As a triad: Either before or after our whole group sessions, depending on your time zone, you will meet with two other participants to explore suggested assignments and practices together, arranging to meet online from one to two hours every day. You will meet like this in two different triads, one for the first three days, and the second for the final four days in our week.
  3. As a home group: ln addition, before or after our whole group sessions depending on your time zone, you will meet in a home group of several people, listening, sharing and supporting each other in whatever inner processes may be alive for you during our work. You will keep the same home group throughout our week, meeting online for up to an hour every day.
  4. By yourself: In your own offline time, for as much or as little as you like, indoors or outdoors, you are invited to explore some suggested inner assignments, to complete our daily programme.

There will also be an optional offline meditation for 20 minutes each day, just before our whole group meeting, which you are welcome to join in support of our work.

This immersion requires everyone’s full commitment and presence throughout each of the seven days. We strongly recommend that you don’t combine participation with any other work activities during the week. There will be no whole-group session on Tuesday 1 December, allowing for rest and integration. If you have other daily commitments which require a lot of time or attention, then this immersion may not be right for you.

Building community ahead of the programme

To prepare for our journey in the weeks leading up to the immersion we will co-create a loving community field in which to meet others and make friends from many countries. You can connect in a private Facebook group-page, and on email via a confidential participant list.

An international schedule

Given the global nature of our world crises, we wish to make this immersion available to as many people as possible. The timing of our sessions will inevitably suit some more than others, and means that some time zones are less well covered, or that sessions are held either in the very early morning or late evening, or at night.

The whole-group sessions are scheduled in the time zones below, and include rest breaks. The whole group will meet on six days – every day except Tuesday 1 December, with the last whole-group session on Friday 4th December.

North America, West Coast:
North America, East Coast:
Central Europe, South Africa and others:

7.30am – 11.30am
10.30am – 2.30pm
3.30pm – 7.30pm
4.30pm – 8.30pm

Outside of the whole-group session times, you’ll meet online as a triad (the second element, above), and in a home group (the third element). For instance, on the West Coast of North America this will be during your afternoons, while in Europe it will be during your mornings or early afternoons.

Tiered Pricing: £450/£420/£390

Before you book your place, please take a moment to consider that the Findhorn Foundation is a Charitable Trust. We believe that the benefits of holistic learning should be available to everyone regardless of their financial or life situation, and that the transformational journey is enriched by a diversity of participants.

We recognise that what is affordable for some can be a financial stretch for others and offer a tiered pricing structure. When you book, please select the price that feels appropriate for you.

Pay it Forward Price covers the cost of your workshop and includes a contribution to our bursary fund. This will make participation possible for one or more people who otherwise would not be able to join our transformational work in the world.

Sustainable Price covers the cost of your workshop and helps us to sustain our learning and guest facilities.

Supported Price reflects a partial bursary toward the cost of your workshop and is intended for those with minor financial need.

Thank you.

Based on our experience of a previous immersion, we have compiled these frequently asked questions. Please read them for an overview of the whole programme.

What will I need technically, and at home?

The quality of your online environment is important, and you will need a reliable internet connection and computer. Please don’t join by phone or iPad as this limits visibility. We will all be visible to each other on screen, so your computer should incorporate a camera, and you will need a headset or earbuds with an integrated microphone so you hear quiet sounds without strain. Experience also shows that using a microphone that’s built-in to a computer means that others tend not to hear you clearly or easily.

Ideally, you want to set up in a quiet, well-lit room where you won’t be interrupted.

Friendly technical advice and support will be provided to those who aren’t familiar with the Zoom platform, or who are unaccustomed to meeting online.

Will there be a build-up to the immersion?

Yes, in the weeks leading up to the immersion we will co-create a lively and loving community field in which to meet others and make friends from many countries. We’ll dive deeply into subtle world work and nourish ourselves in these times of immense inner and outer upheaval and challenge.

To prepare for our journey and deepen our energetic container, in the weeks leading up to the event you have the option to connect with others in a private Facebook group-page devoted to our work. You can dialogue on the group-page with Stephen and others during the immersion week too, sharing experiences and suggestions for going further.

We will also arrange some optional offline meditation meetings through the group-page, to prepare for our inner work during the weeks leading up to the immersion.

To help people connect beforehand, we will create a private online list of participant details as people register for the immersion: your name, time zone and email address. This will enable you to arrange triad groups beforehand if you wish (otherwise triads will be formed on the basis of shared time zones). The online list will allow you to connect with others during and after the immersion too.

Please note that by registering to participate, you agree to your details being shared confidentially in this way, for the purposes of our immersion only.

To enable the triad and home groups to be formed and the final lists to be shared, registration for the immersion will close on Friday 20th November 2020, one week before we begin. We strongly encourage early registration, so as to benefit from the build-up to our work and to nourish our container during the coming weeks.

Will everyone finish the immersion at the same time, and will anything be provided afterwards?

Because of time zone differences, those in the North American zones will finish the immersion in the afternoon of Friday 4 December (with your final triad and home group meetings), while those in the European zones will complete on Saturday 5 December, with your final triad and home group meetings in the morning or early afternoon of that day. Our last whole group session will be on Friday 4 December.

We will keep the group-page open for dialogue and sharing after the immersion until the end of the year, to explore the continuing impact of our work.

Please note that the immersion is available exclusively live, online, and that our sessions won’t be recorded.

What if I need individual attention, or have questions?

Stephen will answer questions in the group sessions and on the group-page, and of course you are free to ask questions or discuss with others in your triads or home group. During the immersion, other team members will be working alongside Stephen and Susan, and may be contacted during the week if you need more support than your home group can provide.
