On this spiritual retreat we will explore the isle of Iona, actively seeking out sacred women’s sites. Accept the invitation to experience what it feels like to be in our bodies in a sacred place.
Using the senses we will come to know our unique self in relation to this mysterious isle. Known historically as a place of prophecy and vision, the sacred dwells tangibly in Iona, opening the island’s veils between the everyday and the mythical. To this day the openings linger and continue to invite in those who come in search of them. Our journey on this spiritual retreat is to explore together this sacred isle and the mysteries it holds.
To enhance the opportunities for connection between self and the sacred that Iona lavishly offers us we will:
By coming into body appreciation and inner awareness a gateway to accessing sacred sites in new ways can come into being.

Situated on the west coast of Scotland, Iona is a sacred island known as a historic place of pilgrimage. Its unique presence and beauty has drawn spiritual seekers and mystics for centuries. Traigh Bhan is the Findhorn Foundation’s retreat house on this magical island.
Traigh Bhan offers the opportunity for quiet contemplation, while the island itself – with its views and spectacular coastal scenery – is ideal for long walks of exploration and contact with nature. Scotland’s western isles are famous for their beauty, and Iona is often considered to be the “pearl of the isles” with its white beaches, rolling hills and ancient bedrock. As a retreat setting, it refreshes and renews the spirit.
If you need time to integrate the lessons of a workshop or space to reflect on your own journey and next steps, Traigh Bhan is the perfect place for spiritual rest and renewal. Comfortable and well-equipped, the house has its own peaceful sanctuary for prayer and meditation. Our residential Foundation custodian can guide you in making the most of your time.
Our quoted prices are fully inclusive of participation in the workshop or retreat, accommodation (maximum 6 guests) in shared rooms (including towels and linen) and vegetarian food for shared meals. Arrival time is midday Saturday, and departure time is the next Saturday morning.
Before you book your place, please take a moment to consider that the Findhorn Foundation is a Charitable Trust. We believe that the benefits of holistic learning should be available to everyone regardless of their financial or life situation, and that the transformational journey is enriched by a diversity of participants.
We recognise that what is affordable for some can be a financial stretch for others and offer a tiered pricing structure. When you book, please select the price that feels appropriate for you.
Pay it Forward Price covers the cost of your workshop and includes a contribution to our bursary fund. This will make participation possible for one or more people who otherwise would not be able to join our transformational work in the world.
Sustainable Price covers the cost of your workshop and helps us to sustain our learning and guest facilities.
Supported Price reflects a partial bursary toward the cost of your workshop and is intended for those with minor financial need.
The cost of the workshop does not include transport to Iona. For Foundation bus information to Iona and to arrange transport, please contact our Transport Department:
