Let the beauty we love be what we do
There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.
Jelaluddin Rumi

The arts are vital to our community life, as they provide creative means for exploring, expressing and communicating our values amongst ourselves and with the outside world. We invite you to join us as we celebrate our spirituality through arts in community, drawing forth our innate creativity and sharing our unique gifts and perspectives. During this twelve-week intensive programme, you’ll have an in-depth experience of community life in the Findhorn Ecovillage, as we discover relationships between the Sacred and the Ordinary; between artistic expression and the tasks of daily life.

Whatever your previous experience or ability level, this programme offers many opportunities to engage with the arts in a deeper way. We will explore themes based in the Findhorn Foundation’s three guiding principles: inner listening, work is love in action, and co-creation with Nature as we discover new ways of studying, working and playing together in order to best support participants to fully realise their potential.

We welcome both beginners and those with some previous background in the arts. Our community artists will provide opportunities to learn new skills and reawaken old ones. We may also combine media, such as drama and singing or drawing and movement in order to discover how they can enrich one another. Please be willing to venture beyond what you already know and participate in a variety of arts such as contemporary/creative dance, drawing, improvisational drama, painting, pottery, sacred dance and singing.

To deepen our experiences of community, we will regularly participate in Findhorn Foundation service departments (gardens, kitchens, dining room, homecare or maintenance) and draw on other community and personal development resources, such as The Transformation Game®. As Winter Solstice, Christmas, Chanukah, and New Year Celebrations fall within these three months, you will have opportunities to join the many community celebrations and seasonal festivals occurring at this time.

We can support each other to learn, grow and celebrate the beauty within and around us by each bringing our maturity, inspiration and any other gifts we have to contribute. Because we will be spending three months together and creating projects as a group, it’s important that everyone be willing to enter wholeheartedly into this experience. A letter of completion will be provided upon request.
