Touch Drawing is a way of creating images through the movement of fingertips on paper. The process is deceptively simple: roll paint onto a smooth surface and gently place a sheet of paper on top. As you touch the page, the pressure leaves an imprint on the underside – a direct transmission of your presence onto paper. The speed of the process allows the creation of a whole series of drawings in a single sitting; a record of your soul in transformation. This focused yet fluid art form opens a portal of expression for deep levels of your being. Touch Drawing is effective for people with little artistic experience, while it opens new possibilities for old hands.
Deborah holds each session as a sacred space. To open the channels of expression, she creates a supportive sound field with drum beats, crystal bowls and evocative vocal toning. To integrate the images that emerge, other art practices are woven into each session. Simple movement practices support you to open to somatic awareness. Reflective writing brings insight into the drawings. Group vocal toning, sharing and discussion generate a soulful community.

As the week unfolds, personal expression expands to encompass intuitive, subtle and holistic perception. Early in the week, you create a series of intuitive drawings for a partner. A startling sense of recognition comes when you share the drawings you created for your partner and see the images they created for you. The experience helps you develop deeper trust in non-linear ways of knowing.
Midweek brings a time of silence and integration, with space to follow your own rhythm and spend time outside attuning to the spirit of the land and the life forms all around us. A new series of images, created outdoors if weather permits, is informed by their presence. As the week unfolds, the focus expands to a planetary level, and images are created in connection and service to the whole.
At the end of the week, we will harvest insights through writing and bring some images into further fruition through mounting and colouring. On our final evening is a ceremonial celebration of improvisational movement and music where participants’ intentions can be solidified, expressed, and honoured. In this intensified vibrational field, you have the space to integrate and energize your intentions.
Touch Drawing is a soulful art form with applications in therapy, healthcare, education, coaching, social work and individual spiritual practice. You will be encouraged to develop your own way of integrating it into your life and work. In the closing session we empower each other to bring the realisations and inspirations from the week back to our lives at home. At the deepest level, this week of creative immersion supports each participant to glow in the fullness of their being.
