Cullerne Gardening Skills Week

Cullerne Gardening Skills Week

The Cullerne Garden Team

Cullerne Gardening Skills Week will be a fun, hands-on seven days in the beautiful surroundings of Cullerne garden, the Findhorn Foundation’s main produce garden. We will offer a balance and integration of practical techniques and spiritual connection. We provide the opportunity to explore biodynamic gardening, permaculture, organic horticulture, and food production methods.

Get ready for a week of practising conscious gardening skills and learning new ones in the setting of the Findhorn Foundation, a unique spiritual community. Our emphasis will be on co-creation with the intelligence of Nature, one of the core principles this community has been practising for more than 50 years. No gardening experience is needed, but we also welcome any experience and insights you bring.

Practical sessions will include:

  • sowing and propagation
  • poly tunnel/greenhouse management
  • tool use and tool care
  • compost making
  • field management
  • crop rotation
  • crop care
  • cultivation
  • planting out
  • harvesting
  • forest management

Other elements will include an opening Saturday garden tour and sessions to connect with each other through Findhorn community practices. These include a Sunday angel meditation and a mid week evening sharing, where you can deepen your connection with your Findhorn programme guides and the other members of your workshop.

CullerneSweatlodgeWe invite you to bring your own musical and dance skills to co-create an evening together of music, singing and drumming around the fire. An evening yoga session will also be on offer.

If you would like to camp in the Cullerne garden camping area, please bring your own tent and camping supplies. Meals are included in this option. Please advise our Bookings team when you make your booking that you prefer to camp.

We invite you to attune to a price on a sliding scale between £390–£170.

Includes 7 nights accommodation, full board and refreshments.

Service Weeks give you the opportunity to come to the Foundation and lend a hand while giving yourself the gift of practicing love in action. The price charged for these weeks just covers your food, accommodation and admin fees, making it an affordable way to spend time in the community. The weeks also include time for personal sharings and are a good way to meet people living here. Join us for an active week of fun, focus, service and creativity.

Due to the low cost of the weeks, unfortunately, we are unable to offer bursaries for these programmes.

If you are thinking about a longer term commitment to staying in the Foundation, a service week is an option that can give you a good sense of what it is like to live here. It also serves as a prerequisite for joining some of our further Essential Findhorn programmes.

You will find other service weeks here.
