We are delighted to announce the launch of our first feature-length film, An Enquiry into A New Story for Humanity: Change the Story, Change the World, which premiered 30 April 2016 here at Findhorn and was live streamed to many more individuals and community interest groups in 68 countries, with thousands watching in their various time zones in the days that followed. All were joining a wave of collaboration as we seek to enquire together into a new story for humanity.
A gift from the Findhorn Foundation, the film is now available for on demand viewing of either the full Premiere or just the film itself on the New Story Film website.
Film director and producer Mattie Porte said, “There’s a grassroots dialogue taking place all over the world and this film is a snapshot of the thinking and consciousness needed to co-create a regenerative planet for our children and our children’s children.
“The strength of the film lies in its holistic and inclusive exploration into the stories that shape us as humanity and compel us to create the positive change we want to see in our world: an empowering counterpoint to the stories of hopelessness and despair we see in the news every day.”
The film was inspired by the New Story Summit at the Findhorn Foundation: a sold-out multicultural, multigenerational enquiry into a new story for humanity, attended by change makers and activists from over 50 countries. A number of professional filmmakers gifted their skills during the summit and conducted a series of interviews with key speakers, each carrying a thread of the new story, including Findhorn Fellows Satish Kumar, Elisabet Sahtouris, Drew Dellinger, along with Charles Eisenstein, Pat McCabe, Polly Higgins and many other proactive changemakers.
The film brings together excerpts from some of these inspiring interviews, along with key moments from the summit itself. It is intended as a tool to inspire and inform, to foster further enquiry, and to serve as a call to action in service to a better world.
The film is a beautifully and sensitively woven tapestry of the rich diversity that is the human family. Featuring live event coverage and interviews on the essential topics of our time: from cosmology to ecology, from ancient wisdom to current thinking, from leadership to governance, from economy to social justice, from education to initiation, from community to sustainability and beyond.
Captured through the lens of both our frailty and our wisdom, this enquiry into a new story for humanity offers a gateway into the evolutionary consciousness that will propel us as a species to recognise and embody our interdependence in harmony with the planet and in partnership with all life.
Over the coming months, the film is set to be translated into Chinese, French, German, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish and Turkish, with many other foreign language translations to follow.
We invite you to join the growing number of change makers around the world who have watched the film and are taking action to accelerate a new story for humanity.
