Guidance from Eileen Caddy

Let Your Motive
Be That Of Purest Love, Of A Deep Desire To Give

Never allow anything to be an effort, do everything because you really enjoy doing it and are doing it for Me and to My honour and glory. Let your motive be that of purest love, of a deep desire to give and give willingly and joyously without a thought of the cost or what you will get out of it. Take no thought of the self. The more you think of others the happier you will be and the better your life will become. Love expands, hate and self-concern contracts. Whenever you find life becoming dull and dreary and uninteresting, start looking around and see what you can do for someone else – it may be a letter of
cheer or a word of encouragement or a little act of love, which will spark something off in you, and before you know what has happened, you will find a new
joy and zest in life, and it will take on a new meaning and purpose, and all dullness will vanish away into nothingness.

One of the co-founders of the Findhorn Community, Eileen Caddy, received guidance from the "still, small voice within" and shared it with others in the community for more than 40 years until she passed away in 2006. Today we continue this tradition by printing her guidance - as relevant today as it was when she received it - in the community's weekly newsletter and by sharing it with the wider world by email.
