Guidance from Eileen Caddy

Do It Perfectly

Do not dissipate your energies. There is so much to be done, but you must learn to channel your energies in the right direction and not fritter them away by dabbling in many things and many activities. It is so easy to do so and this is where self discipline is necessary. You have to seek and to find what you should be doing, where you are going and then go straight ahead and not be tempted to try your hand at a hundred and one different things and ways. You need variety and you need to be flexible, but this does not mean a dissipation of energy. It is far better to learn to do one thing and to do it perfectly, then to indulge in many things and do them badly. Let your standards be of the very highest and be open to learn.

One of the co-founders of the Findhorn Community, Eileen Caddy, received guidance from the "still, small voice within" and shared it with others in the community for more than 40 years until she passed away in 2006. Today we continue this tradition by printing her guidance - as relevant today as it was when she received it - in the community's weekly newsletter and by sharing it with the wider world by email.
