Guidance from Eileen Caddy

Be still and listen

Take time to be still and listen to all the wonderful sounds around you. Enjoy them to the full and give constant thanks that you have ears to hear with. Do you ever stand still listening and counting how many sounds you can hear? This will make you more sensitive, more alert, more aware. When you have tried that and become more and more aware of life everywhere around you, why not try listening to those inner intangible sounds which can only be heard in absolute stillness and silence, that stillness which passes understanding when you become in tune with the things of the spirit, with the things that really matter in life?

In that state of perfect peace and stillness your whole life changes and a deep inner tranquility and serenity are radiated from within. You will feel uplifted, inspired, filled with illumination. Let my peace and love infill and enfold you. Lift up your hearts in deep love, praise and gratitude, be strong and of good courage. Be at perfect peace as you do My will and walk in My ways. Praise be.

One of the co-founders of the Findhorn Community, Eileen Caddy, received guidance from the "still, small voice within" and shared it with others in the community for more than 40 years until she passed away in 2006. Today we continue this tradition by printing her guidance - as relevant today as it was when she received it - in the community's weekly newsletter and by sharing it with the wider world by email.
