The Findhorn Foundation is pleased to once again welcome Perry and Johanna Holloman from the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California, here to offer a month-long opportunity to deepen your knowledge of bodywork and/or spend time healing yourself through touch.
Esalen® Massage Technique
29 June – 26 July 2013
Over the last 40 years, the Esalen Institute has developed a unique form of bodywork – a massage practice known for its long flowing strokes over the body. Helping to release the stresses of everyday life and creating an experience of deep relaxation, this approach to massage acknowledges the wholeness of the body-mind connection. Best described as the interface and integration of form, energy, structure and soul, Esalen® Massage supports the natural ability of the body and mind to self-heal and leaves the receiver in a state of well-being.
The four weeks will provide you with in-depth experience and practice of basic Esalen® Massage techniques, enabling you to give a professional full body massage upon completion of the programme. The study of massage will be complemented by daily meditation, yoga and other movement disciplines.
Through the daily massage and movement practice, you will experience in your own body the qualities of aliveness and flowing presence central to this method. It is this experience of the body itself which transforms what would simply be a ‘technique’ into a true healing art.
So whatever your intention, we invite you to join us for this four-week journey, knowing that our time together will stay with you for many years to come. Our hearts will convey our experience through our hands as we learn to heal ourselves and others through this wonderfully effective method of Esalen® Massage.
