Findhorn Summer Retreats at The Park – Genesis

Welcome to Genesis

Enjoy a slice of history and authentic Findhorn Foundation experience living in this bungalow that once was home to the original founders of the community, Eileen and Peter Caddy, and their family. It is conveniently located near the Phoenix community shop, easy access parking bays and close to the iconic Universal Hall and Phoenix cafe. Genesis is also situated at the edge of the garden where our Community Centre used to be and although the site will be clear, it may still be impacted by security fencing and ongoing works to convert the site into a temporary garden area. As such we have reduced the price of Genesis for the month of June by which time we expect the work to be concluded. Book Now

Genesis is the perfect example of a Findhorn manifestation miracle. The story of the original founders – Eileen and Peter Caddy, and Dorothy Maclean – living as a family of six in the small pale blue original caravan is now legendary. But by 1969 they longed for a more spacious home. A circular from the community was sent to all of the people who had visited Findhorn in order to raise money to buy a new home for the Caddys.

Miraculously the £2000 needed to buy the new home – two caravans attached together – was generously given and the Caddys moved into their new upgraded accommodation in the New Year of 1969.

For their sons it was a luxurious upgrade, with Christopher able to have his own room and his brothers able to have their own beds, rather than sharing a bed. Peter Caddy later added a generous extension where guests were welcomed and Findhorn meetings were held. The founders continued to live there for many years until Peter Caddy left the community.

This cosy cabin has a bright lilac facade with white cottage-style doorway and carpeted lounge and bedrooms.

The lounge area has a separate comfy sofa and armchairs ideal for relaxation as well as a dining area.

The cheery kitchen has a bright red floor with polished pine work surfaces, fixtures and fittings and a breakfast bar dining area.

A private patio area is perfect for contemplation or simply sitting and enjoying the sound of birdsong and connecting to the nature realms.
