Clearwater is one of the Findhorn Foundation’s most elegant and modern guesthouses situated in a quiet area of The Park, conveniently located near to The Phoenix community shop, the iconic Original Garden and caravan, as well as being situated in gardens near where our Community Centre used to be. The light and airy open plan kitchen, living and dining area is elegantly fitted out with white fitted kitchen units, pine work surfaces and stainless steel extractor hood and appliances. A kitchen peninsula with bar height chairs in pine and chrome provides an additional stylish and functional breakfast space.

The beautiful pine wood floor gives the rooms a spacious, golden glow, and the comfy sofas and dining table are perfect for relaxing, writing, contemplation and meditation.

All bedrooms are elegantly furnished with pine flooring and beds, with each bedroom having its own ensuite shower room complete with chrome showerheads and finishes.

An environmentally friendly design, Clearwater uses solar thermal panels to produce hot water for use and for the central heating. In addition, some of the solar thermal system controls are powered from photovoltaic panels heat the hot water via a photovoltaic pump.

Large patio doors and windows makes the most of its natural sunny position and outdoor decking with a small garden area and pond. Clearwater is the perfect environment for a retreat and a firm favourite with Findhorn Fellows and international guest speakers over recent years.

Arrival and Departure Times

You are welcome to arrive between 16.00 and 17.00 on the day of your retreat. Guests expecting to arrive after 17.00 must notify the office of their expected time of arrival. The latest time of arrival is 20.00 (by prior arrangement). After registering and signing in, we’ll take you to your booked accommodation.

Please leave by 09.30 on the day of your departure.

What can I expect from my Retreat?

Findhorn Retreats are an opportunity to stay on our site at The Park, Findhorn, home of the Findhorn Foundation. There is no schedule imposed and guests are free to use their time here as they wish. Spend time in peaceful contemplation or meditation in the tranquil and picturesque Original Garden close to the caravan where the founders Eileen, Peter and Dorothy lived and to the site where Main Park Sanctuary had been. Walks on the beach and in the woods around The Park offer an opportunity to deepen your connection with nature. Or you can choose to spend your mornings practising ‘work is love in action’ in our gardens at The Park or Cullerne vegetable gardens.

What else is there to take part in?

You may opt in to as many Findhorn Foundation or community initiatives as are available* at the time such as:

  • Community meditations (held online)
  • Taize singing (online)
  • Take-away meals from the local cafes on The Park
  • Spending time practising the art of ‘work is love in action’ in our gardens at The Park or at Cullerne, our vegetable gardens (an additional fee per adult per morning applies)
  • Self-Guided Tour of The Park using guide books available from The Phoenix shop

If you feel you want some company, you can enjoy the community atmosphere while enjoying a coffee or a meal at the Phoenix Cafe, situated at the beautiful Universal Hall. You may also be able to take part in a variety of ecovillage community events, dependent on Covid regulations at time of arrival or simply take your time soaking up the sacredness of the land, enjoying the powerful container of this transformational field and enjoying the ‘magic of Findhorn’.

*All activities are subject to current Covid-19 regulations and may be replaced by online Zoom participation as necessary.Current online activities may be moved to in person activities once regulations allow. Groups allowed to stay in the same self-catering property are restricted in line with Scottish Government regulations on indoor/outdoor gatherings at the time of your booking/arrival. We apologise that currently we can only accept bookings from within mainland Britain in line with local restrictions.

Findhorn Ecovillage

Take a stroll into Findhorn Bay and the picturesque village of Findhorn to enjoy a coffee and a sweet treat. There is an organic cafe, two pubs, and several other eateries, as well as watersports and restaurant at the Findhorn Marina.

Enjoy the tranquility of the surrounding pine forests or take a short walk through dunelands scattered with gorse and heather to the white sandy beaches of the beautiful Moray coastline where seals and even the occasional dolphin can be spotted.

The area is perfect for cycling and if you’ve arrived by or hired a car for your travels the magnificent Cairngorms national park and mountains of the Highlands are just under an hour’s drive away.
