It’s Newbold House’s 33rd Birthday

Exactly seventeen years after the Findhorn Foundation deed was signed, the very same words describing the same purposes were enshrined in the document which created the Newbold Trust. Thus on November 17th when the Foundation turned fifty, Newbold House celebrated its 33rd birthday. As our nearest birthday to a third of a century this felt well worthy of celebration and we duly did so, although a week early (for obvious reasons!) over three days between November 9–11. We’re One Incredible Family

The birthday dinner in the Community Centre was a graceful evening, with over 240 people enjoying a delicious meal of salmon en croute, one of the rare occasions when it’s not vegetarian fare! The most enormous birthday cake was on display complete with a colourful candle for every year. Our delightful Dorothy did the honours cutting the first piece and the three Caddy boys said a few words. (read more…)

Lighting the Next 50 Years

The Hall was full to overflowing on Saturday morning as the community gathered for our global meditation, linking in with Iona, Erraid and friends of Findhorn all over the world. Judy McAllister led the meditation with her clear and soothing voice and together we renewed the network of light, creating a chalice of layers, containing all those past and present, the founders, the elders, the teachers of the elders, along with the invisible realms. An Old Spade Wins Over Hearts

Friday night. Our 50th birthday celebrations are over the mid-point hump but the energy is still very vibrant. It’s been a heartwarming time, being in the midst of community members of old as they recognise each other over meals, or a cup of tea, or across a crowded Universal Hall. And a wonderful time for us current members to connect with our community ancestors and strengthen our historic bonds. (read more…)

A Day for the Game

Amongst the many activities and projects happening during this special week, the Birthday Team arranged to play a unique one-day version of the Transformation Game® following a life-sized Game path laid out on the floor of the Universal Hall. As well as the InnerLinks facilitators who live here, Mary Inglis, Judy McAllister and Susie Schwartz, we were also privileged to have as Game guides Kathy Tyler and Joy Drake, the creators of the Game.
