Kenya inspires action!

mapThe Inspired Action conference, taking place at Findhorn from 3-9 April 2010, feels inspired itself!

Through the NextGen network, a global community co-created by youth for youth of all ages, the Badilisha Ecovillage in Kenya heard about the upcoming conference and will be sending their executive director, Evans Owuor Odula, to attend.

Founded in 2008, Badilisha was born of the 1992 Earth Summit where Indigenous People everywhere first gathered to vision a way of living which moves society towards a sustainable, stable and peaceful world. Badilisha supports this vision with their intention that all people in the world live together in a way that supports mother earth as well as respects each other’s needs.

“My main objective for coming to the conference is to be able to link up and share ideas about sustainability” says Evans Owuor Odula. “Our community is greatly in need of it, due to all the socio-economic challenges ranging from environmental to health issues. My wish is to acquire ideas about creating an environment for peaceful co-existence.”

As the conference organiser I’m really excited by Evans Owuor Odula’s participation, to mutually inspire each other, network, and co-create this event. To have people from all over the planet joining the conference makes it very exciting and meaningful. It truly becomes Worldwork – to ‘be the change you want to see in the world’.
