Investiture Ceremony for Eileen Caddy, MBE

The Lord Lieutenant of Moray, Air Vice Marshall George Chesworth, on behalf of the Queen this morning performed the investiture ceremony that means Eileen is now a Member of the Order of the British Empire.

Eileen was awarded an MBE in the New Year’s honours list for her ‘service to spiritual inquiry’. She chose not to travel to London to receive the award from the Queen preferring to receive it in the place that has been her home and labour of love for more than 40 years.

Sat on a golden chair, underneath the portraits of Peter, Dorothy Maclean, Robert Ogilvie Crombie and Sir George Trevelyan and surrounded by family, wider family and representatives of the media the award crowns her life work of encouraging all to find God within themselves.

After receiving the silver cross-like medal Eileen chose typically to hand it over to God, reading aloud the guidance for March 2 from Opening Doors Within.

Mari Hollander, focaliser of our management team, and Eileen’s son Jonathan, both honoured and thanked Eileen for the example of her life.

The Lord Lieutenant did not leave empty handed as Public Relations Officer Richard Coates brought the short ceremony to a close, by presenting the Queen’s representative with a copy of Opening Doors Within, Eileen’s most successful book which has been translated into 27 languages.
