Mike Scott, the inspirational driving force of the award-winning rock/folk group, The Waterboys, is to feature in a BBC Radio Scotland show, to be broadcast Saturday 30 March, between 10 am and 12 midnight.
Called “Long Way To The Light”, the interview includes excerpts from The Waterboys Glasgow concert last November and discussion about Mike’s experiences at Findhorn. Mike Scott, a Findhorn Fellow as well as a sometime cook in Cluny Hill College kitchens, has an abiding love for the Findhorn Community. Recently he and his band, The Waterboys, gave two sold out shows in the Universal Hall to help refurbish the Hall’s Steinway grand piano.
Long Way To The Light is also the title of a biographical song Mike wrote charting his soul journey to Findhorn. It is on the CD Bring ‘Em All In which was mostly conceived and recorded at Findhorn. It also includes, to this writer’s mind, one of the sexiest and true love songs ever recorded, I Know She’s In The Building, the building being Cluny Hill College, and the song being a love song to soul mate and wife Janette. The song contains the lyrics, “She’s eternal, she’s alive and I’ve found her at last.”
