How to get to Findhorn

Location

The Findhorn Foundation is located in northeast Scotland on the Moray Firth coast. We have two campuses: The Park, adjacent to the village of Findhorn, and Cluny Hill College which is 5 miles away in the town of Forres (population 10,000). The city of Inverness is 26 miles away and Aberdeen is 75 miles away.

If you are traveling from anywhere in the UK there are excellent rail and coach connections to Forres. Flying is also an option, but although it is faster it is also more environmentally unsustainable. Please choose your method of travel with awareness.

Forres - The High Street is about a 10-minute walk (half mile, 1 km) from Cluny Hill College.

There are banks (cash dispensers taking most cards), a Post Office and a reasonable selection of shops, garages and restaurants.

There are trains from London to Inverness and Aberdeen, with connections to Forres.

Our buses meet two Saturday mid-morning trains, one from Inverness and one from Aberdeen, at Forres station. There is no need to make a reservation for our bus; this is a regular service happening every Saturday. You are welcome to use these buses when you are arriving or departing. If you are arriving at a different time, there are usually taxis at the station for the five-minute drive to Cluny Hill College or ten-minute drive to The Park.

You can get a sleeper berth on the overnight train between London to Inverness. To book, go to sleeper and click on Bargain Berths.
Bus & Coach
National Express +44 (0)8705 808080 operates express services from London (Victoria Coach Station) and Citilink +44 (0)8705 505050, from Glasgow and Edinburgh to Aberdeen and Inverness.

For coach connections from Aberdeen or Inverness to Forres, call BlueBird Buses +44 (0)1224 212266) or check at the coach station.

There are public and Foundation buses between Forres and The Park. Journey time: 15 minutes.
Road
Travelling from the south via Edinburgh or Glasgow join the A9 at Perth. Leave the A9 turning right onto the A95 towards Grantown-on-Spey. At Grantown follow the A939/A940 to Forres. For Cluny Hill College, from Forres High Street turn into Tolbooth Street and at the roundabout go straight across into St Leonards Road, turning left at the sign for Cluny Hill College. For The Park, Findhorn, use the Forres bypass (A96) turning left for Findhorn and following the B9011 and signs for Findhorn.

If driving from Inverness, follow A96 and signs to Aberdeen and Forres. Forres is approximately 20 miles from Inverness. For Cluny Hill College turn right at the first roundabout at the approach to Forres, and then immediately left. Follow straight on for the High Street, and then follow directions above for Cluny Hill College. For The Park, from the A96 use the second roundabout for Forres, turning left for Findhorn on the B9011 and following signs.

Aberdeen airport is about 75 miles from Findhorn and Inverness airport about 30 miles away by road.

From Aberdeen Airport - You can take a local bus to Blackburn and then change to the number 10 bus which runs approximately hourly from 06:30 and 21:20 from Mondays to Saturdays. (On Sundays this service only runs between 11:20 and 19:20). The journey takes approximately two and a half hours to the bus stop in Forres High Street from where the following taxi companies can provide transport, either to The Park or Cluny:

From Inverness Airport - Buses run from the airport to Inverness city centre where you can change for a bus to Forres or take the train. An easier option is to use available taxi services at Inverness airport for transfer to Findhorn or Forres; fares range from £36 to £45.
