THE COMMUNITY CENTRE (CALLED THE
CC)
The Community Centre, with its sunny garden, is a kitchen,
dining room and space for social occasions and meetings.
It was a small bungalow in 1970 and extended several
times over the years to include a 12-sided two-storey
extension built using recycled telegraph poles. The
solar panels were fitted on the roof in 1982 and the
old concrete patio was replaced by the present beautiful
mosaic patio in 1987.
CORNERSTONE
In 1990, after 28 years of living in a caravan, Eileen
moved into this house. It was built for her by her two
sons David and Jonathan Caddy. It is built to high ecological
standards.
THE SEVEN CEDARWOOD BUNGALOWS
In 1968 Eileen received a vision of seven cedarwood
bungalows with lovely gardens all around them. Again,
they went ahead in faith and built them, even without
knowing who would eventually live in them. One bungalow
was given to be used for guests, another to be used
as a common dining room before the Community Centre
was built. Four of the bungalows are now used for guest
accommodation, the others are occupied by Community
staff.
