An evening of Indian Music & Devotional Singing with Hindustani Classical Artist Sanyogita Kumari whose repertoire includes Khayal singing, Thumari, Ghazals, Bhajans, Punjabi, Dogri and traditional folk songs. Sanyogita will this evening concentrate on devotional Bhajan singing. Joining Sanyogita is Tabla Maestro Pritam Singh. Two members of legendary World Music pioneers, Suns of Arqa complete the line-up – Angel Eye on tampura and vocals, plus Suns founder, Michael Wadada, on sitar.

There will be a workshop in Raag and Rhythmn on Sat 26th May from 10 to 12 noon in the Hall Auditorium. Raag or Raga is a melodic style in Indian Classical Music and will be taught by Sanyogita who performs the night before in the show. Salsa Celtica's music is a synthesis of Afro Latin Salsa with Scottish & Irish traditional. India Alba represent a collaboration between two Indian and two Scottish musicians who combine Indian classical and Scottish traditional backgrounds to create a unique sound. Since their debut album Reels and Ragas, they have developed their music to reflect the broad common ground between their traditions. Many raga gats (themes), particularly those from the borders of the Himalayas, have close relatives in the melodies of the Scottish highlands and islands, and for both of them the drone sounds of the bagpipes or the tampura play an important part in the music.
