Universal Hall
found

Sat 10th Oct, 7.30pm

foundweb.jpgCurious Seed, supported by Dancebase, Eden Court and City Moves have created a new full length work entitled found. Driven by movement and live music, found includes text and film as the threads of the story are drawn from a found letter. As this fractured narrative unfolds one person's reality is deeply affected by a life imagined. Drawing together Artistic Director, Christine Devaney’s experience and skills as performer, choreographer and director, found is a collaboration with a diverse bunch of highly skilled artists in their own field. The company will also present a dance ‘happening’ - see below for details.
"A powerful performance... and sometimes achingly beautifully, danced."

found "Happening" Sun 11th Oct, 2-5pm

As part of the tour Curious Seed will present some unique participatory ‘Happening’ events at selected venues - one of which is the Universal Hall. ‘HAPPENINGS’ involve the composers/musicians, Luke Sutherland and Jer Reid playing non stop for 3 hours with Michael Sherin (actor/performer) and artistic director/performer Christine Devaney improvising / facilitating this with those who come and may also want to join in. The idea sprang from two successful events last year. The musicians, played non stop for 1 day (8 hours), as the movement artists carried on with their creative process. Morag Deyes (artistic director at Dancebase) was very inspired and invited the musicians to do another 'Happening' as an open studio event during Fringe 2008. This was an incredible experience for all involved. People came and went all day. Some danced, some just listened, some of course did both...some for minutes, some for hours...
