Findhorn Foundation News

Hi everyone,

Last weekend I was hiking in the Cairngorm Mountains, above the clouds in a frozen winter wonderland, and today it is another frosty, clear day here at Findhorn with ice floes creaking on Findhorn Bay. Cocooned in my cosy office I can’t help but smile as I think of each of you at your computer - in Antipodean heat or tropical rain or wintry darkness - linked by our connection to this very special place. I feel an intimacy with all of you and know with certainty that we are co-creators of a new earth, and that this transformation is happening one heart at a time. It is a great privilege to be part of a community which facilitates this heart opening process and to communicate with you in this way.

I want to say a specially big hello to all the Resource People I met on 21st November at Cluny. The RPs are a special part of our extended family - a group of 155 volunteers from 35 countries who have lived at Findhorn or visited several times and know the Foundation and Community well, and are inspired to continue the work of our centre by serving in their local area. I was delighted to meet with this vibrant group of about 30 RPs from 11 countries who gathered to celebrate, share and learn what exciting new ventures are happening at Findhorn. Huge gratitude to you for your commitment to our work.

On a softer note, last week, on 13th December, many, many people gathered at the sanctuary at The Park to honour and celebrate Eileen Caddy on the first anniversary of her death. Eileen continues to be an inspiring example of how we can each realise our divinity in the context of our ordinary lives - it is incredibly empowering to know that we can each make a difference by living more consciously and lovingly.

This week I am looking forward to what is one of the community’s most powerful rituals - the winter solstice spiral. On 21st and 22nd December most of us will walk the spiral, laid out in fir boughs in the Universal Hall. It is a symbolic appreciation and releasing of the past year and a focusing of intentions for the coming year. I wonder what will follow the community’s 2007 angel of .

Last but definitely not least the Foundation’s brochure of courses and workshops for May to October 2008 is now on our website. We would be delighted to see you in this sunny corner of Scotland if you feel the magical Findhorn experience can nurture and support you in being the change you want to see in the world. I will mention two particular events and leave you to explore the brochure at your leisure.

Firstly, if you want to be part of an holistic solution to the sustainability adventure why not attend our Easter conference:

Positive Energy - Creative Community Responses to Peak Oil and Climate Change

Secondly, I am excited that Gangaji is offering a workshop at Findhorn 24-26 May. I loved her book, The Diamond in your Pocket, and very much enjoyed hearing her speak in May 2006 at Alternatives in London. There is also the opportunity to stay on after her workshop for one, two or three nights to reflect on and integrate her teaching.

As I sit looking out at a white and frosty village green I know that 2007 did not see an end to fear or poverty or violence. But I also know that our world IS being transformed by ordinary people like you and me who understand that a peaceful planet is achievable if we live from an open heart and the knowledge that all life is interconnected. May we continue to be inspired, explore, soften, and open to the gift of life in 2008.

Blessings on all of us for our commitment, our vision, our mistakes, our laughter and our willingness to raise our consciousness and act with integrity from a place of inner stillness.

Wishing you deep peace and boundless joy this day and all days,
Yvonne Cuneo
