Festival of Sacred Dance, Music & Song

With special guests Kyriakos Moisidis, Laura Shannon and Greek musicians

Saturday 18th July, 2009

Findhorn Sacred Circle Dance presented by Peter Vallance and Hanna Morjan combines traditional folk dances with choreographed dances. Every year our Festival welcomes familiar and new faces who come to share with us the joy of dancing in community for peace and healing throughout the world.

This year, for our 18th annual festival, our special guest is the Greek dancer Kyriakos
Moisidis, who has researched village traditions and dances in the areas of Pontos,
Cappadokia, Asia Minor and North Greece (Macedonia and Thrace). Additional dance
workshops will be led by Findhorn’s resident dance teachers, Susanne Bartholomäi,
Laura Shannon, Andy Bettis, and Peter Vallance. The Choir and Scratch Orchestra
(bring an instrument) provide alternatives to dancing.

Evenings in the Festival are dedicated to dancing to live music with the Festival Band playing regularly for Sacred Dance. Other evenings include a Scottish Ceilidh, Ecstatic Dance and the late night Gypsy Party. Festival participants who have opted for the Choir or Scratch Orchestra provide the music for the final night of dance which is a community celebration with more than 250 people.

Income related price (click here for more information): £575 / £725 / £855

Includes 7 nights accommodation and all meals.
