Festival of Sacred Dance, Music & Song
with Susanne Bartholomai, Andy Bettis, Bill Henderson, Hanna Morjan, Kate O'Connell, Rory O'Connell, Peter Vallance
Saturday 10th July, 2010
In this 19th Festival year we celebrate what makes Findhorn Sacred Dance special.
Sacred / Circle Dance brings together traditional dances from around the world and contemporary choreographies, focusing on both the individual and group experience. The dances range from joyful and fun to inward-looking and meditative, and provide a channel for spiritual harmony and growth. Findhorn has been home to these dances for more than 30 years and we continue to share their transformational and healing power.
We dance in the beautiful Universal Hall, surrounded by a stunning natural landscape of dunes leading to the beach. In addition to the daily dance workshops there's the chance to participate in the Festival Choir and Orchestra (bring an instrument!) and to provide music for the final night's community dance and celebration. No previous experience is necessary.
Dancing to live music is an important part of the Festival experience. There are evenings of Sacred Circle Dance, Ceilidh and Indian Dance featuring our local musicians. Every year our Festival welcomes old friends and new faces who come to share with us the joy and delight of dancing together in community. We look forward to welcoming you.
