Findhorn Faculty, Lorian Association & David Spangler
Saturday 13th March, 2010 (84 days)
Introducing a three-month collaborative learning programme with the Findhorn Foundation, Lorian Association and David Spangler.
13 - 19 March - residential week at Findhorn
22 March – 4 June - online learning community
With Dorothy Maclean’s return to residence at Findhorn this last summer, Findhorn education and the Lorian Association are exploring more active collaboration. One outcome of this is Living Whole, a new residential and online programme. It offers the opportunity to experience the magic of Findhorn in residence and the encouragement of a supportive online community as you apply key soul-resourced principles in your home living situation.
From the Lorian Association:
David Spangler, Freya Secrest, Jeremy Berg.
After founding Findhorn’s educational impulse in the early 70s, David Spangler, along with Dorothy Maclean, Freya Secrest and several other colleagues from Findhorn, moved to the west coast of the US and founded the Lorian Association. There they continued to deepen their exploration of human spiritual capacities, offering educational programmes, workshops and consultations. Since 2001 they have been developing their online education and currently offer a series of study modules in Incarnational Spirituality, Blessing, and Engaging Subtle Worlds.
From the Findhorn Foundation:
Judy McAllister, Mary Inglis, Adele Napier.
In parallel, since 1973 Findhorn has grown and evolved into a flourishing spiritual community, education centre and ecovillage. Our awareness of the interconnectedness of all life has grown and integrated into the everyday fabric of our collective body. We are an extensive and continuous laboratory for applying the principles of attunement, co-creation and service.
Living a 'Whole' life engages four inherent human and soul-resourced capacities:
• Sacredness / Sovereignty – the ability to be a generative source of love and life in the world;
• Selfhood / Self Light - the ability to know ourselves and our lives as expressions of sacredness;
• Co-creation / Partnership - the ability to honour the essential divinity and uniqueness of each other and the world; and
• Blessing / Subtle Activism - the ability to live our lives and our love as a gift in the world.
Together these capacities are the ‘factor X’ that enables us to engage with each other and all the ecologies of life in order to shape a truly holistic and sustainable future.
This three-month programme offers the opportunity to explore a relationship with our own inner resources of sovereignty, generativity, co-creative partnership and blessing. During our initial residential week at Findhorn we will come together as a group with David Spangler and Jeremy de Berg joining via video link. Together we will explore these key principles through artistic exercise, community engagement, personal reflection and focused discussion groups. During the following 11 weeks we will continue online, engaging in ongoing dialogue, regular practice, small group interaction via phone or Skype and monthly one-on-one support with the faculty mentors.
The program draws upon David Spangler’s clear articulation and defined practices of 'Incarnational Spirituality', introducing a new way of accessing and working with subtle and spiritual energies, specifically a generative power we call ‘Self-Light’. It offers the individual:
• a path of alignment with sacredness
• a path of generativity and Self-Light
• a path of energy awareness and management
• a deeper understanding and appreciation of the self
• a fuller experience of subtle energies and the life within all things
• access to greater creativity, particularly for shaping one's life
• a capacity to create wholeness leading to healing self and the world
• a capacity for blessing and subtle activism
• a greater capacity for co-creative partnership with the world and with spiritual allies
