Alan Heeks & Ineke Vollebregt

Elderhood is a call to find a new sense of yourself and your life purpose, when your presence and being are as important as the doing. Exploring elderhood may call you in your fifties, sixties, seventies or beyond: the issues of our time mean the voice, wisdom and fellowship of elders are urgently needed.

The Findhorn Community is an ideal vessel for this exploration. Findhorn's processes and sacred spaces will help us re-connect with life purpose; we will meet with their Elders Circle, explore their approach to Community Care, and visit projects such as youth projects, community market gardens and the cohousing to explore such big issues as sustainability and support for young people, and how the elders can contribute. Our gathering will seek the voice of the elders, in each of us and as a group, to see how we can meet both wider needs and our own.
