Erraid Dawning

Erraid air startles the senses
Sharp in its movement
In pale morning light
Desolate
Proud in its bare elemental settlement
Even the stones
Patient in the passing of fragile human endeavour
And yet I sense a gentleness amongst the brutal starkness
My fragile soaring heart
Would run with the memory of wild-ragged children
Living amdist this isolated island
The sun yellows on distant shore
The ocean calls to me
Chuckling amongst its tides
