Universal Hall - Restoration Appeal
The Universal Hall, a stunning building of great beauty and a much-loved member of the Findhorn Foundation and community, is in urgent need of repair, restoration and refurbishment.
Begun in 1974 and completed in 1983 the Hall has grown to become an important venue for a wide variety of events for people from northeast Scotland and for Foundation guests from all over the world. Over 12,000 people visit the Universal Hall each year and its expansive airiness combined with a sense of warmth and intimacy has created many magical moments for both performers and audience members.
Its stone, wood, glass and light provide a unique space for events including the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, the Aberdeen International Youth Festival, a Nonviolent Communication event, a Planetary Game of Transformation, a Festival of Sacred Dance, weddings, and memorial celebrations.
Over the last 30 years it has witnessed countless moments of revelation, laughter, profound feeling, stillness and celebration and has played an important role in many, many lives. Housing a cafe, a gallery, recording and dance studios, offices and a sanctuary, the Universal Hall is an integral part of community life; it is difficult to imagine life at Findhorn without this versatile and well-used resource.
It is an enormous task to maintain this inspiring building and upgrade its facilities for the benefit of all. We are currently replacing the roof of the Hall and will continue with further restoration projects including refurbishment of the auditorium and a comprehensive improvement of toilet facilities, all together costing £250,000. We ask for your gracious support for this important project.

Bursary Fund
You can also support us by contributing to our Bursary Fund which allows people who do not have enough money the chance to participate in Experience Weeks, conferences and other programmes in the community. The Findhorn Foundation funds over £25,000 in bursaries each year, so that people from developing countries, students, and low wage earners can enrich their lives.
